Whatever Happened To Stealth Bros & Co After Shark Tank?
Most people who appear on "Shark Tank" hope to make the world a better place in one way or another through their product or service, but few can match the heart-tugging and relevant mission of Braxton Fleming and his company, Stealth Bros & Co. "Six years ago the trajectory of my whole life changed," Fleming told the sharks during his pitch. "I realized I was transgender. With this realization came the lifeline commitment of taking hormone replacement therapy in the form of injections."
Fleming was surprised by how difficult it was for him and many others in the transgender community to travel with hormone injections. To combat this issue, he created a stylish dopp kit that allows for a discreet way to travel with the necessary medications. The kits are also popular amongst diabetics, individuals going through infertility treatment, and even tattoo artists.
When he entered the tank during the show's 14th season, Fleming came looking for $200,000 in exchange for 15% of the business. The sharks were not only amazed by Fleming's work ethic and success but also his infectiously joyous personality. Barbara Corcoran and Mark Cuban decided to go in together, offering a $100,000 cash investment and another $100,000 as a line of credit for 20% equity, which Fleming eventually accepted. What's been happening with Fleming and Stealth Bros & Co. since then?
Braxton Fleming is the first Black transgender entrepreneur to secure a deal on Shark Tank
With his deal, Braxton Fleming became not just another winning entrepreneur — he also made "Shark Tank" history as the first Black transgender person to get a deal on the long-running reality show. After hitting this historical milestone, Braxton took to X (which was still Twitter at the time) to share what was going through his head. "I don't even know how to feel right now," he said. "Really grateful, really pumped. It's surreal bro."
Shortly after the episode's airing, Fleming sold out of practically his entire inventory, as he revealed on an episode of the GLAAD series "Changemakers." In a separate interview with TD Stories, Braxton shared that the product had reached 3,000 CVS stores, which came about after he took part in CVS's Executive Learning program. "[It's] one of the best programs I've ever attended," he said. "They teach you so much about CVS and just supplier diversity in general."
Stealth Bros & Co. has expanded its range of products
During his 2023 interview with TD Stories, Braxton Fleming revealed that he had plans for a new range of Stealth Bros & Co. products. Specifically, he was dreaming up a travel duffle bag that would allow you to take everything you needed on the road. "I'm going to design that whole pocket just for medications," he said. "This way you can carry your clothes, all your stuff, you won't need your Stealth Bros & Co. dopp kit because it's all within the duffle."
That dream is now a reality — it's called the Duffle Dopp, and it's available to purchase on the Stealth Bros & Co. website. "Whether you're packing for a short weekend trip, a long-term vacation, or even your gym session this duffle has you covered," the product description reads. "The Duffle Dopp also meets TSA guidelines, so you can carry-on with ease." It costs $58.95 at the time of this writing. There's also a backpack for the same price. Additionally, Stealth Bros & Co. dopp kits now come in several new designs, including Trans Vibe and Pride Edition.
The company develops new products all the time and often holds giveaways for social media followers. It's set to debut Stealth Ascend, a bottom growth pump, in the near future. Fleming also gives back to the LGBTQIA community via the Stealth Bros Support Fund. The fund supports two individuals a year by supplying them with some money to cover costs related to their transitions. "After the company achieved enough financial success, Braxton felt compelled to give back to his community after witnessing the tremendous support and growth that SB&C had received," a statement on the website reads.
